I’m a family nurse practitioner and the founder of SOMA CARE. I believe healthcare should be personal, thoughtful, and centered around understanding the whole person—not simply treating individual symptoms.
With a background in women’s health, over five years of experience in pain management, and advanced training in hormone therapy, I bring a comprehensive perspective to patient care.
My goal is to create a space where you feel heard, your concerns are taken seriously, and we work together to find solutions that support your long-term health and well-being.
My journey in healthcare began at Boise State University, where I earned undergraduate degrees in nursing and Spanish. I later completed my master’s degree at Northwest Nazarene University, becoming a family nurse practitioner.
Before becoming a nurse practitioner, I spent four years working as a registered nurse on the neuroscience unit at Saint Alphonsus, caring for patients with traumatic injuries, neurological conditions, and chronic pain. This experience sparked my interest in understanding complex medical conditions and how deeply they can affect a person’s overall well-being.
After completing my graduate education, I began my career as a nurse practitioner in women’s health and research before transitioning into interventional pain management. With over five years of experience in pain management, I’ve cared for patients with complex, chronic conditions that often require looking beyond individual symptoms to understand the bigger picture.
These experiences have shaped the way I practice medicine today. I believe thoughtful healthcare requires curiosity, careful listening, and a willingness to explore how different aspects of health are connected. This foundation ultimately led me to expand my focus into hormone and metabolic health and establish SOMA CARE.
My passion for women’s health goes beyond my professional experience. It’s deeply personal.
Having navigated my own health challenges, including polycystic ovary syndrome (PCOS) and preterm labor, I understand firsthand how complex and unpredictable women’s health can be. These experiences have shaped not only my perspective as a patient, but also the way I approach caring for others.
Living with PCOS has taught me that hormonal and metabolic conditions don’t always fit a textbook description. Symptoms can look different from one woman to another, and understanding what’s happening beneath the surface often requires looking beyond the obvious.
My personal experiences have reinforced my belief that women deserve healthcare that is individualized, thoughtful, and grounded in both clinical evidence and genuine understanding.
At SOMA CARE, I want women to feel heard, supported, and empowered to better understand their bodies. I believe that meaningful healthcare begins with listening, asking the right questions, and recognizing that every woman’s experience is unique.
My passion for understanding the complex relationship between hormones, metabolism, and overall well-being led me to pursue advanced education in hormone health.
I completed the Advanced Bioidentical Hormone Replacement Therapy (ABHRT) certification through WorldLink Medical, further expanding my knowledge of hormonal changes throughout the lifespan and individualized approaches to hormone therapy.
My areas of clinical interest include perimenopause, menopause, polycystic ovary syndrome (PCOS), thyroid health, testosterone therapy, and metabolic health.
I believe hormone care should never follow a one-size-fits-all approach. At SOMA CARE, I combine my clinical experience and specialized training with a thoughtful evaluation of each patient’s symptoms, medical history, laboratory findings, and personal goals to develop individualized, evidence-informed treatment plans.
Outside of medicine, I’m a mother, traveler, and lifelong learner with a love for exploring the world and experiencing new things.
My passion for travel has taken me across several continents. While attending Boise State University, I spent a year living in Santiago, Chile, immersing myself in the Spanish language and exploring South America. Since then, I’ve continued traveling throughout Central America, Southeast Asia, Europe, and Africa.
Experiencing different cultures and perspectives has shaped the way I see the world. It’s taught me to remain curious, open-minded, and appreciative of the fact that everyone has a unique story.
My previous experience as a yoga instructor also helped shape my appreciation for the connection between physical and emotional well-being.
These days, some of my favorite moments are spent with my son, enjoying the outdoors, traveling whenever possible, and continuing to learn along the way.
